DIGITAL LITERACY
Digital literacy involves having a current knowledge and
understanding of computer, mobile devices, the internet and related
technologies. In this topic, we will share a few simple information in digital
literacy.
COMPUTER
-An electronic device
that have input, processing and output that operating under control.
-Example are laptop,tablet,desktop, and server.
MOBILE AND GAME DEVICE
-Such as smartphone , digital camera, portable media player,
E-book reader and game console.
DATA AND INFORMATION
-Data is called input that have storage and processes to get
information (output) likes keyboard
contains keys you press to enter data into computer.
-An output device is any hardware component that conveys
information from a computer or mobile device to one or more people. An example
is printer or headphones and USB Flash Drive.
THE INTERNET
-Worldwide
collection of networks that connects millions of businesses, government
agencies, educational institutions and individuals.
-World Wide Web is called (www), webpage is consists of a
worldwide collection of electronic documents, website is a collection of
related webpages and web server is a computer that delivers requested webpages
to your computer.
-Browser is software that enables users with an internet
connection like chrome. Search Engine is software that finds websites like
google. An online social network encourages members with other members like
instagram.
DIGITAL SAFETY AND
SECURITY
-Important to protect computers or devices from viruses,
privacy, health concern and environmental issue like green computing that
involves reducing the electricity consumed.
PROGRAMS AND APPS
-Software also called program tells computer what tasks to
perform and how to perform them. Divided by two that System software likes windows and Application software likes
excel.
COMMUNICATIONS AND
NETWORKS
-Communications
device is hardware capable of transferring items from computer or devices to
transmission media. Example are wi-fi and Bluetooth.
-Network is a collection of computer and devices connected
together via communications devices and tansmission media.
USESS OF TECHNOLOGY
-Education, Government, Finance, Retail, Entertainment,
Health care, Travel, Science, Publishing, Manufacturing, Home user, Mobile user
and more.
